On 30 September 2024, an Airbus H225M helicopter arrived to Camp Butmir. This is not the first time this modern helicopter type from the Hungarian Air Force visited the compound of EUFOR, one could have been spotted in August, when – on its way to North Macedonia to combat wildfires – it stopped briefly in our camp.
Now this very helicopter will stay longer, as it will replace EUFOR’s Mi-17 that has conducted transportation tasks since January 2024. This rotation of helicopters is the result of the defence development program of the Hungarian Defence Forces.
