Recently, Chief Of Staff (COS EUFOR), Brigadier General Szilard Gerofi, paid a visit to the 4th Brigade (Bde) of the AFBiH in Čapljina. Colonel Zdravko Rezo, the Commander of the 4th Bde welcomed COS EUFOR and updated him on the status of the Bde.

EUFOR can confirm that the UN Security Council has unanimously approved the extension of EUFOR’s mandate for an additional 12 months (UNSCR S/RES/2604(2021). This means that EUFOR will continue to support the local authorities in maintaining a Safe and Secure Environment, in close cooperation with the Law Enforcement Agencies and the Armed Forces of BiH.

A Training and Co-Operation Plan between EUFOR and the Armed Forces Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed today on 19th October 2021 at the AF BiH Home (Dom Oruzanih Snaga) in Sarajevo.

The Commanders of EUFOR and NHQSa marked the continued cooperation and friendship between their respective missions with a tree planting ceremony in Camp Butmir.

On Monday 18th of October a ceremony, presided over by Commander EUFOR, Major General Alexander Platzer, marked the Change of Command of the EUFOR Multinational Battalion (MNBN). The Multinational Battalion is comprised of 3 different nations Austria, Hungary and Turkey who serve together within EUFOR.

Admiral Robert P. Burke, Commander Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Naples, was welcomed to Camp Butmir by Major General Alexander Platzer, COM EUFOR, and Brigadier General Eric Folkestad, Commander NATO Headquarters Sarajevo.

Earlier today, COM EUFOR, Major General Alexander Platzer, met with the newly appointed foreign minister of Austria, Mr Michael Linhart.
