Today, on February 19, 2026 in Camp Butmir, the EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda met with US EUCOM Brigadier General Chris McKinney.
This meeting provided the opportunity to discuss their shared vision regarding Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting the importance of the stability and security in the Western Balkans. Both Maj Gen Fronda and Brig Gen McKinney agreed that it was imperative for EUFOR and US EUCOM to continually engage with the institutions of BiH, particularly so AF BiH whereby engaging in combined training and exercises will create seamless interoperability and ultimately build capacity within AF BiH to organically safeguard peace and stability within the country.
Major General Fronda commended the ongoing contribution of the United States in underpinning peace within the region, and reaffirmed EUFOR's strong commitment to remain visible, credible and impartial partner within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
