On Tuesday 25 June, Lieutenant General Johann Luif, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Austrian Armed Forces arrived at Camp Butmir in order to pay a farewell visit to Major General Martin Dorfer and attend COM EUFOR’s Change of Command ceremony the following day.

During the visit they discussed the contribution Austrian troops had made to the mission over Major General Dorfer’s tenure as COM EUFOR and Lieutenant General Luif also thanked Major General Dorfer for his efforts over the last 15 months as well as wishing him well in his next role.

Austria is one of 20 troop contributing countries in the EUFOR mission; there are 15 EU, and 5 non-EU countries contributing troops to Operation Althea in Bosnia and Herzegovina
