On Wednesday 4th July the Minister of Defence for Turkey, Mr Nurettin Canikli met with COMEUFOR, Major General Martin Dorfer, at Camp Butmir as part of a visit to Sarajevo.

Turkey is one of the largest troop contributing nations to the mission and play a significant part in helping to maintain the safe and secure environment in the country. Mr Canikli paid tribute to the soldiers when he addressed them at the Turkish contingent area.

Before arriving at the camp, Mr Canikli met with the Minister of Defence in BiH Marina Pendes and also laid a wreath at the grave of Bosnia's first President, Alija Izetbegovic in Kovaci Cemetery.
