Italian reserve troops arrived today at the Port of Ploče, marking another step in the deployment of reserve forces in support of Exercise Quick Response 2026. Following their arrival by sea, the troops continued their movement towards Čapljina, where they will join preparations for the upcoming exercise.

The deployment demonstrates EUFOR’s ability to rapidly reinforce its presence across Bosnia and Herzegovina when required. The coordinated movement of troops by sea and on by road highlights the flexibility, responsiveness and operational readiness that underpin EUFOR’s ability to maintain a safe, secure and stable environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Exercise Quick Response 2026 is an annual EUFOR exercise taking place from 22 August to 3 September. It is designed to train and demonstrate EUFOR’s capability to rapidly reinforce its presence through the deployment of reserve forces from partner nations.

Throughout the exercise, reserve forces are arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina using different modes of transportation, including sea, road, rail and air. These movements provide a practical demonstration of how additional forces can be rapidly generated, deployed and integrated into EUFOR’s operations when needed.

The arrival of the Italian reserve troops by sea is one of several deployments contributing to the exercise and demonstrates the ability of EUFOR and its contributing nations to coordinate and move forces efficiently across different routes and locations. Quick Response 2026 provides an important opportunity to train together, strengthen interoperability and ensure that EUFOR remains ready to respond effectively when required.

Presence you can see. Readiness you can trust.
