Today saw a significant, multi-modal arrival of EUFOR reserve troops from France and Austria, arriving to support the upcoming Exercise Quick Response 2026. Reserve personnel from France arrived via Sarajevo International Airport, while Austrian troops, vehicles and equipment arrived into Bosnia and Herzegovina by convoy, crossing the border at Gradiska.

Not only does a deployment of this nature demonstrate the pace at which EUFOR can activate and deploy its reserve forces to increase it presence and capability within Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it allows an invaluable opportunity to rehearse the mechanisms in which EUFOR receives and integrates forces from multiple partner nations, via multiple routes simultaneously.
EUFOR reserve forces will continue to arrive in the coming days via air, sea, land and rail as part of Exercise Quick Response 2026. This planned annual exercise provides a crucial opportunity for all EUFOR’s 24 troop contributing nations, temporarily augmented by its reserve forces, to enhance their interoperability, capability and operational readiness.

This capability in turn enables EUFOR to continue to support local institutions, the Armed Forces of BiH and Law Enforcement Agencies in maintaining a Safe, Stable and Secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
