During his official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Union Operational Commander, Lieutenant General Ludovic Pinon de Quincy, accompanied by EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda, met with both the Acting High Representative Mr. Louis Crishock and the European Union Special Representative to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Luigi Soreca, for a series of high-level discussions on the country’s security environment.

The meetings provided an important opportunity to exchange views on the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region, while reaffirming the European Union’s continued commitment to supporting the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of close cooperation and coordination between the European Union’s political, diplomatic, and military instruments. Participants underlined the value of maintaining a shared understanding of the evolving security landscape, ensuring that international efforts remain aligned in support of long-term peace, stability, and security throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Major General Fronda highlighted the importance of sustained engagement among international partners to maintaining a shared understanding of the security environment. Through close cooperation and coordination, EUFOR remains ready to support the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The visit of the Operational Commander provided an ideal opportunity to receive an updated brief on EUFOR’s ongoing activities and preparations for the upcoming annual Exercise Quick Response, which will provide an important opportunity to test EUFOR’s readiness, command and control procedures, and ability to rapidly integrate additional forces. The commanders highlighted the importance of continuous training and maintaining a visible, credible, and impartial force capable of responding to developments in the operational environment.

The meetings demonstrated the importance of sustained high-level dialogue in strengthening cooperation, enhancing situational awareness, and ensuring that the international community remains coordinated in its efforts to support Bosnia and Herzegovina. By fostering unity of effort and maintaining a common understanding of the security environment, the European Union continues to reinforce its commitment to lasting peace, stability, and a safe and secure environment throughout the country.
