Children from different communities and backgrounds gathered in Višegrad for EUFOR Children’s Day, a multiethnic event organised by EUFOR’s Liaison and Observation Team (LOT) Višegrad aimed at promoting friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding among younger generations.

The event featured a range of educational, cultural, and recreational activities in a positive and inclusive environment, bringing young people together through teamwork, learning, and shared experiences. EUFOR Deputy Commander Brigadier General Bálint Legoza attended the event in support of the initiative and engaged with participating children, families, and organisers throughout the day.

EUFOR Children’s Day reflected EUFOR’s continued commitment to strengthening ties with local communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, while also encouraging dialogue, inclusion, and cooperation among young people. Through initiatives such as this, EUFOR continues to support opportunities which bring communities together and foster a positive environment for future generations. Addressing attendees during the event, Brigadier General Legoza highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting friendship and understanding among young people.

“Events such as EUFOR Children’s Day demonstrate the positive impact that cooperation, inclusion, and community engagement can have in bringing people together. Seeing children from different backgrounds learning, playing, and building friendships together sends a strong and encouraging message for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina,”

said Brigadier General Legoza.

The event also highlighted the important role played by EUFOR’s LOT Houses in building strong relationships with communities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina through continued engagement, dialogue, and cooperation.
