Highlights of the combined national weeks included the opportunity for EUFOR members to view cinematic classics from each nation, to partake in each nation’s different foods and drinks and flag raising ceremonies.
The week also included both nations’ national holidays on 17 November, a day when in 1939 students demonstrated against the Nazi regime in Prague and in 1989, student protests sparked the Velvet Revolution and ultimately helped lead to the downfall of the communist regime.
The combined national weeks were a great success and allowed EUFOR troops to learn about the rich culture and history of both nations.
