It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of an EUFOR soldier on the afternoon of 9 February 2025 following an accident.
The soldier, who was off duty at the time, sustained a severe injury while swimming recreationally at an aquatic complex in Sarajevo. Emergency medical personnel arrived promptly at the scene, provided first aid, and transported him to the University Hospital in Sarajevo. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
