Today, Chief of Staff EUFOR Brigadier General Traian T. Maghercă, visited the 5th Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Dubrave Barracks near Tuzla. During the visit, Brigadier General Maghercă met with Commander of the 5th Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Fahir Žilić, to discuss ongoing cooperation, operational coordination and opportunities to further strengthen the relationship between EUFOR and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The visit provided an opportunity to exchange views on areas of mutual interest and underlined the importance of maintaining close and practical cooperation between EUFOR and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Regular engagement between EUFOR and Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina commanders contributes to effective coordination, mutual understanding and the continued development of professional military cooperation.

Afterwards, Brigadier General Maghercă visited the Liaison and Observation Team house located in Tuzla. This visit provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with EUFOR stationed there and gain an insight into local issues. Through regular engagement across the country, EUFOR’s LOT Houses help maintain close contact with local communities and contribute to EUFOR’s understanding of the local environment.
