Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, met with the Mayor of Tuzla, Mr. Zijad Lugavić, in a constructive discussion focused on security, cooperation, and the wellbeing of local communities.
Beyond addressing the current security environment, the meeting highlighted Tuzla’s growing reputation as an open and welcoming city, increasingly recognised for bringing people together through international events and initiatives. The recent Coffee and Chocolate Fair once again demonstrated the power of shared experiences, promoting friendship, togetherness, and positive connections across the region.
Discussions also explored opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between EUFOR and local authorities, with a common commitment to stability, development, and improving the quality of life for citizens. Ongoing projects and future initiatives were presented, underlining how a safe and secure environment contributes directly to progress and prosperity.
Both sides emphasised that strong partnerships, continuous dialogue, and mutual understanding remain essential in building resilient communities and supporting long-term stability.
EUFOR continues to operate under its mandate in support of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, maintaining a credible, visible, and impartial presence across the country.
