EUFOR had the pleasure of hosting the Polish national week recently. The week allowed EUFOR troops to learn the rich history, culture and culinary traditions of their Polish colleagues.
The week also celebrated Polish Independence Day on 11 November. The national day commemorates the anniversary of the restoration of Poland's sovereignty in 1918.
Flag raising ceremonies accompanied by the awarding of commemorative medals from the 27th Polish contingent of EUFOR.
Commander of EUFOR Major General László Sticz praised the contingent’s loyalty and devotion to duty, qualities reflective of the Polish nation and its peoples.
