The Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, welcomed the Commander of the Royal Netherlands Army, Lieutenant General Jan Swillens, to Camp Butmir for an engagement focused on the current security environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the meeting, both commanders discussed the evolving security situation and the importance of continued international support to the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining stability. Particular emphasis was placed on EUFOR’s role in supporting domestic institutions and working in close partnership to ensure a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
Major General Fronda highlighted the valuable contribution of Dutch personnel serving within EUFOR, commending their professionalism and dedication to the mission. He noted that their efforts continue to play an important role in the successful delivery of EUFOR’s mandate under Operation Althea.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong cooperation between EUFOR and contributing nations, as well as the shared commitment to peace, stability, and security across Bosnia and Herzegovina. EUFOR continues to operate under its mandate in support of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, maintaining a credible, visible, and impartial presence while working alongside national and international partners to ensure a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
