On 01st of April 2026, the EUFOR Commander, Major General Maurizio Fronda, met with the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Sevlid Hurtić.

EUFOR Commander Meets Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and to reaffirm the strong and constructive cooperation between EUFOR and the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister Hurtić underlined the importance of EUFOR’s presence and partnership for maintaining a stable and secure environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is strongly committed to the protection and promotion of human rights, with a special focus on freedom of speech and freedom of access to information, which are guaranteed under the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

The EUFOR Commander highlighted the strong and ongoing connection with the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and reaffirmed EUFOR’s steadfast and impartial commitment to supporting the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens, in line with EUFOR’s mandate.

Security and stability are in the interest of all, and EUFOR will continue to stand firm, remaining reliable and committed to that objective.
