Today at Camp Butmir, COM EUFOR Major General Florin Marian Barbu welcomed Lieutenant General Giovanni Maria Iannucci, Commander of the Italian Joint Operations Command.
Their discussions focused on the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Major General Barbu highlighted EUFOR’s essential role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens, and expressed appreciation for the strong and ongoing contribution of the Italian contingent within the mission.
Lieutenant General Iannucci also met with the Italian troops deployed at Camp Butmir and will attend tomorrow’s Change of Command Ceremony for the EU Force Commander of Operation ALTHEA.
