Yesterday at Camp Butmir, EUFOR personnel, distinguished guests, and families came together to celebrate the winter season in a truly festive atmosphere.
Guests were warmly welcomed by COM EUFOR Major General Florin Marian Barbu, DCOM EUFOR Brigadier General Uberto Incisa di Camerana, and COS EUFOR Brigadier General Tibor Szabó. Among the attendees were representatives from the Embassies of Troop Contributing Nations, NATO HQ Sarajevo, EUFOR staff, and local employees with their families.
The Winter Festival was officially opened by Major General Barbu, who also gave special recognition to EUFOR employees marking 30 years of service at Camp Butmir. A highlight of the evening was the entrance of the Austrian Krampus, symbolically driving away negative energy from the hangar, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree, where children joined COM EUFOR to spread joy and winter spirit.
Throughout the event, guests enjoyed surprises including a photo and video booth to capture memories, culinary experiences and winter drinks, a military static display, and a variety of games and fun activities for children.
The evening concluded with smiles, laughter, and a shared promise to return next year for another unforgettable Winter Festival.
