Closing the series of events marking the 20 years anniversary of Operation Althea, on 06th December EUFOR held its Winter Festival in Camp Butmir. The day was a chance for EUFOR to show its appreciation to its civilian employees for their hard work and dedication.
The nations involved included Austria, France, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Türkiye and the United States. Each nation provided a variety of foods and beverages from their home country, and all were welcome to take a closer look at equipment EUFOR uses for when performing transportation, explosive ordnance disposal or other tasks.
The event also included a musical performance of Horváthné Nemcsok Ágnes from Hungary and Muhamed Trnka from Bosnia and Herzegovina. They performed to an excellent level and kept the audience captivated throughout.
The event saw a visit from the famed “Krampus”. Naturally, our Krampus visit was a more fun and lighthearted event, played excellently by members of the Austrian contingent.
COM EUFOR Major General László Sticz gave out a number of awards and letters of appreciation to civilian employees of EUFOR. He also thanked all who attended the event, all of those whose hard work made it possible and all the civilian workers for their dedication throughout the year.
