Invitation to Media Representatives to Attend the Change of Command Ceremony

EUFOR is pleased to invite media representatives to attend the Change of Command Ceremony for the EU Force Commander of Operation ALTHEA, marking the handover between Major General Florin Marian Barbu of the Romanian Armed Forces and Major General Maurizio Fronda of the Italian Armed Forces. The ceremony will take place at Camp Butmir on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, starting at 11:00.

Program Highlights:
• Speeches by the outgoing and incoming COM EUFOR, Major General Florin Marian Barbu and Major General Maurizio Fronda
• Speeches by the EU Operation Commander for ALTHEA, Lieutenant General Ludovic Pinon de Quincy, and H.E. Luigi Soreca, EU Special Representative and Head of the EU Delegation in BiH
• Military parade featuring EUFOR personnel and equipment (for the first time, a platoon from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina will participate and march in the parade)

Meeting Point: Main gate – Camp Butmir.
Arrival time: No later than 10:00.
