The Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, met with the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mohammed Meraimi, in Sarajevo, as part of ongoing engagement with key diplomatic partners.

EUFOR Commander Meets Algerian Ambassador to Strengthen Partnership in Support of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Stability

The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of strong diplomatic-military cooperation and to exchange views on shared efforts aimed at preserving stability and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Major General Fronda expressed his appreciation for Algeria’s continued support to international peace and acknowledged the constructive role of the Algerian Embassy in fostering cooperation. Both interlocutors underscored the importance of close coordination between EUFOR, EU Member States, and international diplomatic representatives in the country. Particular emphasis was placed on EUFOR’s ongoing cooperation with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, focusing on strengthening domestic capabilities and enhancing interoperability.

EUFOR remains fully committed to delivering its mandate under Operation Althea. Major General Fronda reiterated that EUFOR will continue to act as a visible, credible, and impartial force, contributing to a safe and secure environment across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
