Today at Camp Butmir, COM EUFOR Major General Florin Marian Barbu, COS EUFOR Brigadier General Tibor Szabó, and EUFOR staff attended a ceremonial commemoration for the German National Day of Mourning (Volkstrauertag).
On this solemn day, we honour the memory of soldiers from all nations and civilians who suffered or lost their lives in wars or under violent regimes. Their sacrifice and their suffering will never be forgotten.
Germany observes the National Day of Mourning every year on the second Sunday in November.
