During a recent foot patrol, EUFOR soldiers from Türkiye and North Macedonia witnessed an elderly man in his 70s fall off his bicycle. Without hesitation, they rushed to help. The man, a war veteran, was struggling to walk and stand. Thanks to the language skills of a North Macedonian team member, they learned he had a hip injury and had been feeling dizzy for several days. He was trying to reach the post office.

With support from local civilians, emergency medical services were called. In the meantime, the soldiers offered him water and stayed by his side until paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital.

After ensuring he was safely on his way, the patrol continued. Through their quick response and care, EUFOR soldiers once again showed that compassion and solidarity are at the heart of every mission.
