The EUFOR ALTHEA Operation Commander, General Sir Adrian Bradshaw, was welcomed at EUFOR Headquarters on Monday by Commander EUFOR, Major General Johann Luif at the start of a 3 day visit.
Tuesday’s visits programme began with a briefing from key EUFOR personnel who delivered an update on the progress of the mission, followed by briefs on the co-operation between EUFOR and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH) through the Capacity Building and Training Programme: focusing on the progress made by the AF BiH in building a robust and self-sustainable training capacity, and EUFOR’s plans for continuing support and future co-operation.
During the day General Bradshaw also met with the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Dr. Mladen Ivanić, the Minister of Defence of BiH, Ms. Marina Pendeš, and the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark,
The EUFOR Operation Commander will complete his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina today. General Bradshaw has held the role of Operation Commander since March 2014, when he assumed the role of NATO’s Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR). Under an arrangement known as the ‘Berlin Plus Agreement’, this key command position also commands the EUFOR Operation ALTHEA.
