On the 26 May 2015 40 personnel from the Austrian and Turkish contingents were presented with their European Union Common Security and Defence Policy Service Medal Operation Althea by Chief of Staff EUFOR, Brigadier General Zoltán Mihócza.

‘Congratulations to each and every one on parade’

In his speech, Brigadier General Zoltán Mihócza stressed the importance of the Medal Parade in that it formally and publically acknowledged the contribution made by everyone on the parade to the success of EUFOR. He continued by saying that each one of them represented a practical and positive affirmation of support from their Governments and Armed Forces to EUFOR and to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Austria and Turkey are the 2 largest contingents of the 22 troop contributing nations currently serving in Operation Althea.
