On Thursday 20th December, a delegation headed by Mario Kunasek, Austrian Minister of Defence, visited EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina at Camp Butmir, Sarajevo.

After taking the salute from the EUFOR Honour Guard, Mr Kunasek discussed the current political and security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina during an office call with COMEUFOR, Major General Martin Dorfer.

The 20-strong delegation included General Robert Brieger, Chief of the Austrian General Staff, and advisory staff from the Defence Ministry.

The Austrian contingent at Camp Butmir gave a number of demonstrations to the delegation, after which Mr Kunasek commented on the importance of their efforts to support EUFOR, and the safe and secure environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Austria is the largest troop contributing nation to EUFOR, including the provision of specialists, such as doctors and pilots.
