On 16 Jan Commander EUFOR, Major General Anton Waldner, welcomed the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia, Andreja Katič, to EUFOR Headquarters in Sarajevo.

Ms Katič was accompanied by the Slovenian Ambassador, the Chief of Staff of the General Staff of Slovenia, and members of the Slovenian Parliamentary Defence Committee. They met with COMEUFOR and experts to discuss the current security situation in BiH, as well as the role that EUFOR plays in supporting the BiH authorities maintain a safe and secure environment. Slovenian military personnel are among EUFOR's in-theatre troops and they have a large impact on EUFOR's military output despite being one of the smaller contributing nations.

Slovenia is one of 14 EU and 5 partner nations serving together in EUFOR, and who work closely with the Law Enforcement Agencies and Armed Forces of BiH to maintain the safe and secure environment for the country as it moves towards a European future.
