Lieutenant General Edward Gruszka, the Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces, was welcomed to Camp Butmir by the Commander of EUFOR, Major General Robert Brieger, on 20 November 2012.

General Brieger briefed General Gruszka on the current situation in BiH and how EUFOR continues to support BiH authorities in maintaining the safe and secure environment.  The Commander of EUFOR thanked General Gruszka for Poland’s continuing support to Operation Althea and praised the Polish soldiers for their dedication and professionalism, in particular their support to the new Capacity Building and Training concept.
During his visit General Gruszka took the opportunity to meet the various elements of the Polish contingent that are based in Camp Butmir.
Polish soldiers are currently fulfilling a number of important functions that support the EUFOR mission. These include amongst others contribution to HQ EUFOR, the International Military Police, the Capacity Building and Training Mission and the LOT-house in Doboj.
