On 3rd March 2011, 78 soldiers from 4 countries gathered in Banja Luka to receive their Op Althea Medals in front of a gathering of VIPs. General Novaković from the Armed Forces of BiH and a number of Military Attachés attended to see Major General Bernhard Bair and the Senior National Representatives (SNR) award medals to the soldiers serving in the Regional Coordination Centre West area of operations.
In his comments about the nationalities represented at the ceremony COM EUFOR said “it is pleasing to see 4 contingents represented on parade. This is an example of multinational peacekeeping at its best and is a very positive sign from your governments and armed forces to EUFOR and the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.” He also thanked Lt Col Profijt, the RCC West Commander and Dutch SNR, for organising the successful medal parade.
Troops from Netherlands, Chile, Romania and Bulgaria were on parade and man the LOT Houses in the western region of BiH.
