On Wednesday 31st March, EUFOR in BiH are launching the virtual Mine Risk Education (MRE) campaign that was produced in close cooperation with BiH Mine Action Center (BH MAC) and Armed Forces BiH (AFBiH). This virtual Mine Risk Education campaign is being launched to coincide with International Mine Awareness Day on 04 April and ahead of the start of Demining season in BiH.

On Thursday the 14 January Major General Reinhard Trischak handed over authority for the mission to Major General Alexander Platzer at a Change of Command ceremony in Camp Butmir. The ceremony was chaired by the EU Operation Commander for EUFOR Althea, Lieutenant General Brice Houdet

A ceremony of remembrance was held on Tuesday 12th January 2021 at Camp Butmir to mark the 13th anniversary of a helicopter crash which claimed the lives of 11 EUFOR personnel from the Republic of North Macedonia.

25 years have passed since the Dayton Peace Agreement was finally signed in Paris on 14 December 1995. As the Commander of EUFOR’s mission in BiH, it is my responsibility, not only deliver on the terms of our Mandate that is derived from the Dayton Peace Agreement, but also to ensure that those under my command are ready and able to respond to any contingent requirement.

The EU Council reiterates its commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina and welcomes the continued presence of Operation Althea.

Commander EUFOR, Major General Reinhard Trischak, led a ceremony unveiling a new memorial dedicated to the remembrance of all fallen soldiers of the Bosnian War.

Commander EUFOR Major General Reinhard Trischak and Minister of Security of BiH Selmo Cikotić travelled today to the Border Crossing Point in Zvornik. After EUFOR and its reserve forces again successfully cooperated with the BiH Ministry of Security and BiH Law Enforcement Agencies during Exercise Quick Response 2020, Minister Cikotić invited Major General Trischak to an on-site visit of the Border Police at one of the most frequented crossing points with Serbia. This reiterates the high level of cooperation between EUFOR and the BiH Law Enforcement Agencies.

On November 21, The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, visited EUFOR headquarters at Camp Butmir, Sarajevo, as part of his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on the 25th Anniversary of the agreement of the Dayton Accords.

The Commander of EUFOR, Major General Reinhard Trischak met with Mr Aleksandar Đorđević, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to BiH at Camp Butmir yesterday afternoon.
