Visit to EUFOR by Central European Defence Co-operation (CEDC)

EU Defence Ministers acknowledge EUFOR’s continued military support towards a secure BiH
On Tuesday 8 November 2016 the Central European Defence Co-operation (CEDC), consisting of nations from; Czech Republic , Slovakia , Hungary , Austria , Slovenia and Croatia were welcomed by Commander EUFOR (COMEUFOR) Major General Friedrich Schrötter. Upon arrival they were met by their respective EUFOR Senior National Representatives before an honour guard from the Multi-National Battalion (MNBN) consisting of Austrian and Turkish Soldiers.

Annual Capacity Building and Training Assessment Conference

On 3 November EUFOR and Armed Forces of BiH representatives met for the annual “Capacity Building and Training Assessment Conference” at the Army Hall in Sarajevo. Officers of both organizations presented the results of their joint training efforts conducted throughout 2016 including lessons learned, potential improvements and planned activities for the upcoming training year 2017.

Exercise QUICK RESPONSE: Continuous support of EUFOR using Berlin Plus agreement

Large scale Brigade-Level exercises such as Exercise Quick Response 2016 show that EUFOR Forces along with partners from NATO and AF BiH, including Reserves are at all times ready and able to respond quickly and effectively to any potential threat to a Safe and Secure Environment (SASE) in BiH.

Commander EUFOR (COMEUFOR) Major General Friedrich Schrötter and AFBiH Operational Commander Major General Dragan Vucković are pleased to announce the combined Exercise “Quick Response 2016”. This exercise is the culmination of nearly two years of planning and will take place in the AF BiH military exercise area Manjača, near Banja Luka later this month.

Brigade sized Exercise QUICK RESPONSE 2016 is fully underway

All reserve forces participating in Exercise “QUICK RESPONSE 2016” were successfully deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina and received at Camp Butmir, Sarajevo.
Many convoys have transited through BiH over the previous days demonstrating EUFOR’s ability to move troops quickly throughout the country. The UK deployed by air using an Antonov 124 cargo aircraft for strategic lift in to Sarajevo airport. EUFOR proving they can call in robust forces at short notice, as required.

Medal Parade for EUFOR by COMEUFOR Major General Friedrich Schrötter

A medal parade was held 15 Sep at EUFOR Headquarters in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo. COM EUFOR, Major General Friedrich Schrötter, presented the European Union Common Security and Defence Policy Medal Althea to 108 service personnel from 8 different nations and thanked them for their dedicated service in and for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

EUFOR annual Exercise Quick Response 2016, update 29 September

EUFOR is currently well underway with Exercise “Quick Response 2016”. This exercise is the culmination of nearly two years of planning and will take place 30 Sep to 6 Oct, in the Armed Forces BiH (AFBiH) military exercise area Manjača, near Banja Luka. Over 750 Soldiers from EUFOR, AFBiH, United Kingdom, Austria and the NATO KFOR Tactical Reserve Company of Portuguese and Hungarian soldiers will participate in the exercise, which will be combining joint training for the AFBiH and their international partners with the yearly test for EUFOR to call forward their Immediate Reserve Forces in order to be prepared should the authorities of BiH request their assistance.

KFOR Change of Command Ceremony

Today, Commander EUFOR, Major General Schrötter attended the Kosovo Force Change of Command Ceremony between Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta and Major General Giovanni Fungo at Camp Film City Pristina.
The ceremony was also attended by the Allied Joint Force-Naples Commander, U.S. Navy Admiral Michelle Howard, the Italian Chief of Defense, General Claudio Graziano as well as President Thaçiand senior Representatives of Institutions in Kosovo and the International Community.
