On Friday 31 May Juraj Majer, a member of the EUFOR LOT house in Foča, came first in the men’s senior category of the traditional night time street race held in the centre of Foča.
More than 350 competitors participated in the street races which take place over a three kilometer route through the center of the city, the lower field and across two of the Drina bridges. A large number of spectators were also present to support the races.
President of the organising committee, Zarko Todovic, said the races, which are held as part of the May ceremony of the Foča municipality, were increasing in popularity every year.
Juraj Majer who comes from Slovakia said: “this is the first competition I’ve participated in.” He added, "I'm delighted with the atmosphere, this is a small town, and so many people have come to support the event. I have never participated in something similar but I really enjoyed it".
