Bridge in Lukavica Rijeka officially opened

On 10 March 2015, the mayor of Lukavica Rijeka invited representatives of the Armed Forces of BiH, EUFOR and UNDP for the official opening ceremony of a bridge in this village near Doboj.

The bridge – a result of common engagement

The material for the bridge construction was funded by the EU Floods Recovery Program and managed by the United Nations Development Program. EUFOR training teams, of engineering specialists from Hungary, mentored the Armed Forces BiH engineers who built it

Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and EUFOR signed an Agreement for Training in 2016 and 2017

On 4 March 2015, Deputy Chief of Operations and Training of the Joint Staff, Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH), Colonel Branko Rašeta, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Capacity Building and Training (CB&T) EUFOR, Colonel Hakan Soner Aplak, signed the Road Map Agreement 2015 - a plan for training cooperation between the two organizations for 2016 and 2017, in Camp Butmir.

First training course on Communication and Information Systems 2015 started!

From 15 to 27 Feb 2015, EUFOR conducted a “Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance System” (C4ISR) training for the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) at the Tactical Support Brigade Barracks in Rajlovac. This course was the first out of eight courses on Communication and Information Systems, which is planned for this year. 16 participants (7 Officers, 9 NCO’s) of the AFBiH successfully participated.

Mine Risk Education Instructors Course

A five day Mine Risk Education Accreditation course was held at Camp Butmir, Sarajevo between 23 – 27 February 2015. 33 participants attended from EUFOR’s Liaison Observation teams, the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) and Non-Government Organisations (NGO).
The objective of the course was to train instructors to deliver Mine Risk Education (MRE) to the population of BiH, in particular children, young people and hunters. The course was delivered by HQ EUFOR, Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Centre (BHMAC) and NGO “Stop mines” personnel.

HR/VP Federica Mogherini visits EUFOR Headquarters

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, visited EUFOR headquarters at Camp Butmir, today as part of her visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. High Representative/Vice President Federica Mogherini was welcomed by a guard of honour at the EUFOR headquarters before attending a brief on EUFOR’s mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina given by Major General Johann Luif, Commander EUFOR. The Senior National Representatives of all 22 Troop Contributing Nations were also in attendance.

EUFOR Multinational Battalion Change of Command Ceremony

On 20 February 2015, in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo, command of the Multinational Battalion of EUFOR was handed over. At the ceremony the Commander EUFOR, Major General Johann Luif, transferred the flag of the Battalion, symbolising the power of command, from Lieutenant Colonel Manfred Scheucher to Lieutenant Colonel Michael Köck.
