10th March 2010 – The Spanish Minister of the Interior, Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, visited EUFOR HQ Sarajevo to meet with COMEUFOR and the Spanish troops of EUFOR Althea.
During the Minister’s visit, Major General Bernhard Bair, Commander of EUFOR BiH emphasised the contribution, sacrifice and the continued lengthy commitment of the Spanish military and Guardia Civil to Bosnia Herzegovina. Both the Integrated Police Unit and the Multi National Manoeuvre Battalion are commanded by Spanish officers and Spain is currently the strongest EU contributing country.

Once again in so short a period of time we are saddened by a natural disaster that has affected the lives of so many. I speak on behalf of all the personnel of EUFOR in expressing our sympathies to the people of Turkey, who have suffered in the recent earthquake in their country.

8th March 2010 – Lieutenant General Carlo Gibellino, the Italian Army Deputy Chief of Staff, visited EUFOR HQ, where he paid an official call on COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair. COM EUFOR briefed General Gibellino on EUFOR activities and the current security situation within BiH.

2nd March 2010 – The Change of Command (CoC) ceremony of the Austrian National Element and the Regional Coordination Center (RCC) 4 took place in Tuzla on 2nd March in the presence of the Austrian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency Dr. Donatus Köck, COM EUFOR, Major General Bernhard Bair and the Austrian National Contingent Commander, Colonel Josef Holzer.

1st March 2010 - EUFOR COS Brigadier General Gerhard Kemmler visited Sarajevo International Airport to greet the group of Brcko primary school students and their teachers, returning from their four day visit to London.
The students, from the 4th Primary School Brcko, were the winning team out of the 48 from schools all over BiH that competed in last year’s “EUFOR CUP 2009” football tournament, and their prize was the trip to the UK, which included an afternoon as VIP guests at the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspurs and Everton.
